By 2012, most festival aftermovies were little more than flashy highlight reels. For Castle of Love, the challenge was to reimagine the aftermovie, something with narrative and emotional resonance, giving “new blood” to a tired format.

As Mamvi’s first paid project, I led the concept, creative direction, and film direction of Young Blood. Rather than following the genre’s conventions, we wrote a screenplay, developed characters, and introduced the “Cast of Love.” Through a teaser, trailer, and final film, the aftermovie became a piece of storytelling—an experience in itself rather than just a recap.

Young Blood marked Mamvi’s debut as a studio committed to “creating its own language.” The project brought fresh perspective to the festival aftermovie genre, positioning Castle of Love as a pioneer willing to experiment, while establishing a foundation for my future work at the intersection of narrative and experience.
