In 2012, Puresang—brothers Pablo and Niels—had a wealth of performance footage but no cohesive story to connect their growing reputation with their artistic identity. The challenge was to turn years of disparate material into a narrative that reflected their evolution, momentum, and unique bond, while positioning them for the next stage of their career.

With my parter at Mamvi, Jessica, I shaped a narrative around Departures, a 20-minute documentary supported by shorter “Parts” that captured performances across Europe. The title reflected both their career trajectory—already marked by festivals like Solar, Extrema, and Miami Music Week—and their readiness to take off to the next level. Their brotherhood became the emotional core of the story, threading through every frame, while the film’s structure allowed each performance to feel part of a larger, cinematic journey.

The premiere during Amsterdam Dance Event 2013 and subsequent online launch gave Puresang a strategic and memorable platform to showcase their talent and identity. Departures turned raw performance footage into a story-driven experience, positioning the duo as artists with a clear narrative arc, while engaging audiences emotionally and giving the brand of Puresang a cinematic signature from early on.
